Senior MI Analyst/Senior Data Analyst - Hybrid (Permanent)

Location: London/Hybrid Country: UK Rate: 80K + 10% Bonus & Pension, Healthcare & Dental Care
 

Senior MI Analyst/MI Specialist required to join prestigious financial organisation in a hybrid model based in London. The role involves analysing data received from participants and other sources, and produce management information to comply with the Order, deliver on regulation priorities, and keep the company updated. Other activities include contributing to the reporting of the companies performance against their Service Agreements and internal KPIs.

Duties Include:

  • Manage the regulatory MI cycle from data submission by Participants to production of monthly reporting.
  • Manage and maintain source data in our data stores, throughout its life cycle.
  • Use various tools to interrogate data received from participants and other bodies, undertaking both recurring and ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Recognise and understand patterns and anomalies in data, developing and testing hypotheses to explain these.
  • Manage data quality, identifying and taking steps to verify and correct anomalous data, and escalating where required.
  • Produce regular reporting by set deadline including data visualisations, reports, forecasts, and KPIs; analysing output to form coherent stories.
  • Provide insights to the ecosystem.
  • Manage the relationship with the Data & MI teams of entities supplying data. Raise any data quality issue with them, request them to explain, correct and resubmit where needed, and challenge them if necessary.
  • Support internal or external stakeholders with the provision of ad-hoc MI analysis.
  • Ensure all published reporting complies with Competition Law and the data sharing agreements in place with entities supplying data.
  • Provide 1st, 2nd, & 3rd line support to internal and external stakeholders, in respect of queries relating to Data & MI.
  • Support onboarding of new participants providing Data & MI via automated channels (SFTP, API). Identify and implement opportunities to optimise processes, reporting, and data management.
  • Maintain process documentation, ensuring it is kept up to date as procedures evolve and new processes are adopted.
  • Ensure trained back-up is in place at all times.

Skills Required:

  • Proven analytics experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Highly numerate with educational and professional experience in mathematical modelling & statistics.
  • Proficient in Tableau, AWS, MS Excel, and managing data in multiple data sources.
  • Competent coding skills, including SQL, VBA, and Python.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, both internal and external, at a range of levels and technical abilities.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to question the status quo, test new tools and ways of working, measure the results, and learn from the experiences.
