Enterprise Architect (Permanent)

The University has set out an ambitious plan to enhance student education, research, and corporate systems through increased use of digital technology, data, and digital approaches as part of their new University strategy.

About the Role:

Reporting into the Director of Strategy and Architecture, you will be tasked with leading the shift from an "As-is" and "To-Be" architectural model and adopt a more proactive approach to how IT & Technology can add value to the respective departments and faculties they engage with.

Key responsibilities:

  • Working with each project sponsor in the department to understand their research and teaching aims to deliver IT solutions from a business capability perspective.
  • Delivering target models and creating roadmaps, acting as a lead in the demand planning of IT and ensuring the quality of service moving forward.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Technical, Solutions and Enterprise Architects, supporting them in the execution of product roadmaps and helping to resolve any technical escalations where required.
  • Coordinate regular reviews within each faculty department (there are approximately 7 key departments plus Professional Services including IT, Finance HR etc)
  • Documentation of non-functional requirements and proposed architectures.

Experience of interest:

For this level of role, you must have proven commercial experience and demonstratable knowledge within the following fields:

  • Business Capability Modelling.
  • Applications/Solution Architecture.
  • Technical Architecture.
  • Information/Data Architecture.
  • Enterprise Architecture techniques and frameworks.

Alongside this, they are also looking for you to possess knowledge and practical experience within the following processes:

  • Enterprise Application Integration.
  • Business Process Modelling eg BPMN.
  • Datamodelling.
  • Service Oriented Architecture.
  • Cloud Infrastructure and service design.
  • Strong technical knowledge and appreciation of IT principles including regulatory, legislative and industry practices.
