We are seeking a dedicated Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join the technology department of a global logistics business, who are a leading player within their industry. The role involves managing, implementing, and contributing to the design of core infrastructure, spanning server, storage and networking systems.

Description

• As the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will work closely with the company's existing IT Infrastructure team, in order to deliver the most effective IT solutions for the business in a senior, project-focused role.
• The position will come with a strong Microsoft focus, and you will work consistently with Windows Server 2016, 2019 and 2022, as well as senior work with Active Directory and Office365.
• The organisation has a large virtualised server estate, and you will be working extensively with VMWare on a data centre scale.
• In addition to the core infrastructure elements outlined above, you will also influence security, implementing and managing multi-factor authentication solutions for enhanced security across various systems and applications.
• You will also have responsibility for backups and storage, implementing and managing backups, working with platforms including Commvault, Veeam and Zerto for replication and disaster recovery purposes, all within complex, technical data centre environments.
• In addition to the central project elements of the role, you will also cover senior BAU work, through consistent monitoring of IT system performance, ensuring potential problems are addressed proactively.
• This may include routine maintenance tasks, delivery of software updates and optimizing configurations, whilst also troubleshooting through fault diagnosis, and working with vendors to find the right solutions.
• The role does come with the flexibility of being remote/home-based, but the business has several sites across the Midlands, so we are ideally looking for a candidate who can get to Birmingham if required.

Profile

As the successful candidate for this Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer role, you should have a deep understanding at a 3rd Line level and above in:

• Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022
• Azure Cloud Services
• Office365
• VMWare (ideally holding a VCP certification)
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
• Backup technologies (such as Commvault, Veeam or Zerto)
