Job Title: Capital Project Manager (NHS - Band 8a) Locum

Location: South East England, Onsite 37.5hrs per week

Overview: The Capital Projects Manager plays a pivotal role within the Trust, collaborating closely with the Associate Director of Capital Development to deliver a professional Estates design, technical advice, and engineering/construction management service. This position entails overseeing and supervising Capital schemes to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints, timelines, and quality standards, ultimately enhancing the Trust's Estates portfolio and facilitating optimal patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Directly manage and supervise Capital schemes, ensuring compliance with Estates and Facilities Regulations.
  2. Manage Building Improvement schemes by coordinating with construction contractors, engineering consultants, and surveyors.
  3. Lead the design, specification, procurement, planning, and implementation of Capital and major revenue projects, including compliance-related remedial works.
  4. Act as a deputy for the Associate Director of Capital Development, representing the Trust in meetings and reporting to Trust groups as necessary.
  5. Collaborate with the Associate Director to develop and execute the Trust's Capital Program, focusing on enhancing patient and staff environments.
  6. Commission and project manage Capital projects, including major revenue initiatives, and contribute to business case development.
  7. Provide technical representation at Project Meetings, offering expertise in capital schemes and associated projects.
  8. Offer specialized construction and Facilities Projects advice throughout the Trust, supporting the Capital Development agenda.
  9. Develop and implement Capital Policies and Procedures, providing guidance on sustainable design principles to healthcare planners and designers.
  10. Stay abreast of sustainable and healthcare-related design advancements in construction, maintaining current knowledge for informed decision-making.

The Capital Projects Manager role is instrumental in driving forward the Trust's Capital Program, ensuring the enhancement of facilities and services in alignment with organisational goals and industry best practices.
