P&C Design Engineer

My client are recruiting for a Protection and Control Engineer to join our team in Wakefield within our Engineering department. They are a specialist service provider for the Power Transmission and Generation sector, supplying specialist services for both design and drawing management nationally for majority of the UK's power distribution network and system operators.

Key Responsibilities:

HV light current secondary design capability.

Undertake and lead design work with due regard to Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures and production of Designer Risk Assessments, as necessary.

Represent the Department at project start-up, scheme review, progress, closeout, liaison and other meetings.

Be responsible for maintaining internal and external interfaces during the project.

Desirable Experience:

National Grid 132/275/400kV project experience essential.

SSE 132/275/400kV projects experience an advantage

Must be able to work as part of a team.

Have experience in the design of control and protection systems for HV networks and a degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.

Degree in Electrical Power Systems preferred.

Persons & BESC preferable but not essential.

Good working knowledge of MS Office packages (Work, Excel)

Flexible and willingness to accommodating to deliver a variety of tasks with predetermined deadlines

Well organised, self-motivated, and proactive individual with excellent communication skills.
