Cross Commodity Trading Business Analyst: World Energy Co (Contract)

Exciting opportunity for a Cross Commodity Trading Business Analyst to join a large high profile project in this global Energy company.

MUST HAVES;
Understanding of Trading ecosystem and Trade Life Cycle, Oil and Gas Contracts in Trading
Experience in ETRM, Agile DevOps, Azure DevOps, Gas Trading or Commodity Trading
Must be able to come to the London office at a minimum of twice a week
Must have at least 5 years experience performing a Business Analysis role on a Trading platform (ideally Crude and Products, Gas or Power)
Must have at least 3 years supporting Front Office (Traders).

About The Role:

'Downstream Exchange is a state of the art web application that simplifies the complexity of the life of a derivatives deal to the click of a button. This replaces the manually intensive sending of orders and entering of thousands of deals across recorded messenger services and phones, freeing up thousands of hours of trader time, while giving the community price transparency and up-to-the-second Real Time pricing access.

After a successful global roll-out in Crude & Products Trading and Supply, the Project has moved into physical Gas Trading between Downstream and IG & Upstream, as well as European financial markets. This year, DSX has streamlined and automated the trading of agricultural futures for the Gasoline and Low Carbon Fuels businesses.

The programme itself is considered one of their top projects with over 70 persons on the programme and so will provide the opportunity for the right candidate to make a very visible impact on the programme. The role is to fully drive the Business Analyst work in the Gas Trading space

Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
Translate business requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project life cycle.
Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes, to final solution.
Interact with software suppliers, designers and developers to understand software limitations, deliver elements of system and database design, and ensure that business requirements and use cases are handled.
Create acceptance criteria and validate that solutions meet business needs through defining and coordinating testing.
Create and present compelling business cases to justify solution value and establish approval, funding and prioritization.
Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control Business Analysis activities on projects within agreed parameters of cost, time and quality.
Understand and stay abreast of relevant architectures and technologies related to a business area. Research potential solutions and innovative ideas. Guide and manage interactions with technology vendors.
Lead stakeholder management activities including facilitation of large design sessions.
Build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key business and IT stakeholders.
Support longer-term business strategic goals through proposing improvements in value, cost, process, data, technology, functionality, and initiating high-level business requirements and feasibility studies to discover options and directions.
