Description:

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in ETL processes to join our dynamic team on a contractor basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines, ensuring the smooth flow of data across various systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong T-SQL development skills, with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL processes.
  • Solid experience in relational database design with a keen eye for performance optimization.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Attention to detail and proficiency in QA processes for both individual and team deliverables.
  • Experience with ETL infrastructure, including Azure Data Factory and/or SSIS, across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Proficient in analytical/reporting tools such as Analysis Services, Tabular Data Model, and Power BI/Tableau/T-SQL.
  • Understanding of analytical tools and a strong numerate background.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in T-SQL development and debugging.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Demonstrated ability in relational database design and performance optimization.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in ETL infrastructure, including Azure Data Factory/SSIS across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with analytical/reporting tools such as Analysis Services, Tabular Data Model, and Power BI/Tableau/T-SQL.
  • Excellent attention to detail and QA skills.

Note:

This role will require you to have Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected. Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
