As the Senior Project Manager for Disaster Recovery, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our business operations against unforeseen disruptions. You will lead a comprehensive assessment of our existing DR strategy, identify gaps, and drive the implementation of necessary upgrades and missing elements. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring our business continuity and minimising downtime during crisis situations.
Responsibilities
Initiate and Plan-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
Develop a detailed project plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment. Obtain buy-in from stakeholders and secure necessary approvals.
Assessment and Gap Analysis: Conduct a thorough review of our current disaster recovery strategy, policies, and procedures. Identify gaps, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Evaluate the effectiveness of existing DR solutions and technologies.
Strategy Enhancement: Work closely with IT, security, and business continuity teams to design an enhanced DR strategy. Work with the SME's to recommend improvements based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Define clear roles and responsibilities for DR implementation.
Implementation and Upgrades: Lead the execution of DR enhancements, including infrastructure upgrades, data replication, failover testing, and documentation. Coordinate with vendors and external partners as needed. Monitor progress, track milestones, and adjust the project plan as necessary.
Testing and Training: Develop and execute comprehensive DR testing scenarios. Ensure that all relevant personnel are trained on DR procedures.
Reporting and Communication: Provide regular status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders. Prepare detailed reports on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
The Senior Project Manager should be able to lead, inspire and motivate team members, setting up clear goals and expectations, delegating tasks, and providing guidance and support throughout the project delivery.
Strong stakeholder management: Project Manager should be able to manage key stakeholder across the organisation, especially at facilitation between the business and the IS teams.
Business Change: As the project is expected to involve significant business users interactions and impact assessing, the Project manager should be able to impact assess on user community during the designing and execution of the project. The project manager should be able to proactively identify, engaged, and manage the stakeholders ensuring that their concerns and needs are considered and addressed throughout the project life cycle. Able to demonstrate significant experience in driving the operational and business change projects.
Communication:
Effective communication is vital for conveying project objectives, requirements, and progress to stakeholders, team members, and application owners. The project manager should be able to listen actively, articulate ideas clearly, and foster open and transparent communication channels to ensure everyone is aligned.
