Data Protection Assistant, 23 Months, Edinburgh, £178p/d

Parity Group are delighted to partner with our client, a public sector organisation, who are looking to recruit a Data Protection Assistant on a 23 month contract basis. You will be based in offices in Edinburgh three days per week.

Primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to, protecting personal data held and processed by the organisation.

You will receive a daily rate of £178.

I would love to hear from applicants who have experience in a fast paced environment and skills including:

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the data map and relevant audit procedures;
  • Help to complete Data Protection Impact Assessments and other risk assessments reporting on these to the Data Protection Manager
  • Assist in responding to Data Subject Access Requests, where you will be responsible for managing and continually monitoring the process to ensure the client adopts best practice and meets all statutory requirements
  • Work with key business areas to understand and document how they handle personal data
  • Contribute to the development of data protection policy, procedure and guidance
  • Assist with investigating and recording any data breaches/incidents
  • An understanding of data protection issues and the handling of sensitive personal data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work as part of a team sharing information and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to interpret and analyse diverse sources of information at pace and use this to identify key issues and support decision making and recommendations
