Dev Ops Engineer (Contract)

Location: Newcastle, Tyne & Wear Country: UK Rate: 60k
 

Salary: £60k

Job Type: Contract (6 month initial - with the option to extend)

Job Location: Newcastle

Workplace Type: Hybrid (3 days in office)

We are seeking a skilled Dev Ops Engineer with a minimum of 4 years experience who will be responsible for overseeing the design and execution of application build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. In this role, you will collaborate within multifunctional teams to gather requirements, assess tools, implement and update solutions, devise and execute test plans, provision environments, conduct application performance evaluations, aid in the migration of Legacy systems, and resolve operational issues efficiently

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and implement applications' build, release, deployment, and configuration activities.
  • Collaborate within multifunctional teams to gather requirements and evaluate tools.
  • Implement and update solutions, and build and execute test plans.
  • Provision environments and conduct application performance reviews.
  • Assist in the migration of Legacy systems and triage and fix operational issues

Skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux, including Scripting languages.
  • Experience in developing and supporting cloud-based applications (AWS and/or Azure).
  • Familiarity with working in a DevOps environment, including Continuous Integration & Deployment, and agile scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of writing and maintaining Infrastructure and Configuration as Code.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, CloudTrails, and PagerDuty.
  • Experience with Infrastructure and Configuration as Code, preferably Terraform and Ansible (other languages accepted).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI
