IT Support Engineer (Contract)

Location: Derby Country: UK Rate: £300 - £400 per day + Inside IR35
 

Global Engineering Business based in Derby are looking for an Interim IT Support Engineer for a 6 month contract to focus on providing 2nd Line Support to the UK and Global Business as well as getting involved in wider Infrastructure tasks. This role sits under the Head of IT Operations and will be responsible for 2 junior engineers.

Please note this role is inside IR35 and requires 4 - 5 days onsite in the Derby office.

THE ROLE

The deliverables of the IT Support Engineer include but are not limited to:

  • Senior IT Support for Windows and Linux
  • Administration of Microsoft AD, ADAXES
  • Mobile phone configuration and support using MDM
  • Assist in new implementations and migrations
  • Incident, problem and change management adhering to ITIL best practices using ServiceNow.
  • Also getting involved in Networks, Server Based Systems and Storage & Back Up
  • Stakeholder management working with all levels from senior management down.

YOU

The Interim IT Support Engineer will have prior experience of:

  • Experience with Software Deployment and packing solutions in both Windows, Linux and VMware
  • Significant server and desktop support experience
  • Experience in leading rollouts, migrations and system upgrade.
  • Experience supporting High Performance Compute (HPC) environments
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues on laptops, workstations and enterprise Servers.
  • Stakeholder management experience in a IT Support Engineer position
  • Preferably worked in a Global Logistics or Manufacturing in an Infrastructure position
  • Desirable to have prior management experience but not essential.
