Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Contracts Privacy Lawyer to join their dynamic team. What you'll do:

As a Commercial Contracts Privacy Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in advising various business units and support functions on a wide array of commercial contracts and privacy matters. You will be expected to anticipate future developments that could impact the bank's position within the financial industry. Your ability to analyse legal risks against commercial interests will be crucial in proposing creative solutions that meet business needs. Your responsibilities will also include handling incidents, claims, litigation, engaging external lawyers when necessary, as well as preventing legal risks by drafting policies, guidelines, and standards.

. Provide guidance and specialised legal advice on a wide range of commercial contracts and privacy issues
. Anticipate future developments influencing the position of the bank and the financial industry
. Analyse legal risks and commercial interests in a broad context and propose creative solutions/approaches
. Give verbal or written practical, independent, solution-driven, innovative legal advice in transactions and projects
. Handle incidents, claims and litigation
. Actively develop and expand an extensive (international) network of contacts within and outside the bank
. Give internal presentations/training to businesses and support functions on specific legal topics
. Deal with complex legal issues in a broad context
. Engage external lawyers/law firms for incidents, claims, litigation and specific legal questions
. Prevent legal risk for the bank/business by drafting policies, guidelines and standards

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Commercial Contracts Privacy Lawyer role is a qualified and practising lawyer, preferably in a common law jurisdiction. You will have gained experience at a major national or internationally recognised law firm, with in-house legal experience within a financial institution being strongly preferred. Your strong research, writing and drafting skills will be essential in this role, along with your ability to prepare clear, concise documents on complex legal issues. Your proven experience in balancing legal risks with commercial needs, excellent negotiation skills, attention to detail, and specialised knowledge of commercial contracts and privacy topics will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

. Qualified and practising lawyer, preferably in a common law jurisdiction
. Experience gained at a major national or internationally recognised law firm
. In-house legal experience with a financial institution strongly preferred
. Strong research, writing and drafting skills
. Ability to prepare clear, concise documents on legal issues
. Proven experience in balancing legal risks with commercial needs
. Excellent negotiation skills in a collaborative environment
. Attention to detail with excellent legal research and analysis skills
