Dell PowerEdge Engineer - £387.50 per day Umbrella - Remote/London - CONTRACT (Contract)

Location: Remote/London Country: UK Rate: £387.50 per day umbrella
 

We are recruiting for Dell PowerEdge Engineers on contract working for a Global IT Service Provider.

The roles will require 3 days in our client's London office and 2 remotely per week.

One expert in PowerEdge Management Suite and another within PowerEdge Server.

The job duties of a Dell PowerEdge Management Suite Specialist should include:

  1. Installation, configuration and management of Dell iDRAC, OpenManage Enterprise, Repository Manager, Support Assist, Power Manager and associated Plug-in's
  2. Monitoring and managing the health and performance of Dell Servers and devices
  3. Troubleshooting issues related to Dell Servers and devices using the Dell PowerEdge Management Software Suite
  4. Creating and maintaining documentation related to Dell PowerEdge Management Software Suite configurations and procedures
  5. Collaborating with other IT teams to co-ordinate and implement changes and updates to Dell Servers and devices
  6. Performing maintenance and performance tuning on Dell Servers and devices
  7. Testing and implementing firmware updates and patches for Dell Servers and devices
  8. Providing technical support and assistance to end-users and other IT teams.
  9. Keeping up to date with new features and updates of Dell PowerEdge Management Software Suite
  10. Assisting in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures related to role
  11. Ability to working in team, across Customer and vendor to find best fit processes for supporting the customer as to their preference

Skills and qualifications required for a Dell PowerEdge Management Suite Specialist may include:

  1. Strong knowledge of Dell Servers and devices, including hardware components and configurations
  2. Experience with managing Dell Servers and devices using Dell PowerEdge Management Suite and associated tooling
  3. Understanding of Dell's TechDirect support mechanism
  4. Knowledge of Open Source software O.S and Management platforms - Linux, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform
  5. Strong knowledge of infra-as-Code - Scripted Server automation/deployment/management - RACADM, Bootstrapping, RESTAPI, Python, Ansible Playbook, Terraform integration
  6. Knowledge of Containerization - Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
  7. Knowledge of virtualisation technologies - OpenStack
  8. Familiarity with network protocols and technologies
  9. Understanding of RAID configurations and storage technologies
  10. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  13. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  14. Certification in Dell OpenManage or related technologies may be preferred

1 Installing, configuring, and maintaining Dell PowerEdge Servers, including hardware components, RAID configurations, and firmware updates.
2. Setting up and managing the virtualization environment using technologies such as Openstack
3. Monitoring the performance and health of Dell PowerEdge Servers and virtual machines to ensure optimal performance
4. Troubleshooting server and virtualization issues, identifying the root cause, and implementing necessary solutions
5. Collaborating with other IT teams to plan and implement server and virtualization upgrades, migrations, and expansions
6. Managing user accounts, permissions, and security settings in the server and virtualization environment
7. Implementing backup and disaster recovery procedures for the server and virtualization environment
8. Assisting in the design and implementation of high-availability and fault-tolerant server and virtualization architectures
9. Providing technical support and assistance to end-users and other IT teams
10. Keeping up to date with the latest advancements in Dell PowerEdge Servers, virtualization technologies, and industry best practices

Skills and qualifications required for a Dell PowerEdge server and virtualization specialist may include:

1. Strong knowledge of Dell PowerEdge Servers, including hardware components, configurations, and management.
2. Experience with virtualization technologies such as OpenStack.
3. Understanding of server operating systems - Linux
4. Familiarity with network protocols and technologies,
5. Knowledge of RAID configurations, storage technologies, and backup solutions.
