A managed IT service provider is looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager to join their end client in the Insurance Sector. This is a 12 month contract opportunity, working inside IR35, based in central London (hybrid working). The ideal candidate will have demonstratable experience as a Portfolio/Programme Manager in the insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of infrastructure capital investment portfolio projects, ensuring alignment with organisational strategies.
  • Manage programme delivery and resource allocation, prioritising projects based on business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across different time zones and regions to drive project success.
  • Provide hands-on support and coaching to the wider team on best practices in programme management.
  • Oversee programme governance and commercial management, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Job Specific Skills Profile:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an IT infrastructure and operational change Programme Manager.
  • Demonstrated expertise in C-level governance and commercial management.
  • Strong project management skills with hands-on experience in delivering complex projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading programme communities and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in programme planning tools and techniques, budget management, and risk mitigation strategies.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Experience managing large IT infrastructure implementations within the insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with programme governance frameworks such as MSP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or PMP.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering Microsoft core technologies and managing programme budgets.
  • Knowledge of IT networking and infrastructure concepts such as Azure, WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, VMware, SAN, SQL, etc.
