Database Engineer/DBA (Permanent)
Location: London Country: UK Rate: £100k - £130k per annum + bonus and benefits
 

Data Engineer/DBA with multi database experience required for leading hedge fund based in London. Emphasis on SQL Server, PostgreSQL and NoSQL production engineering environments.

Essential Skills:
3 years + experience in database engineering or production DBA role; production environment experience with at least 2 of the following: SQL Server, PostgreSQL and NoSQL; understanding of DB monitoring, analysis, disaster recovery, and performance tuning; one of the following programming languages (SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL etc.) and BI services (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) for design, maintain, administrate, secure, backup and recovery across production, back test, UAT and development environments; experience in Scripting in Powershell/Shell script, Python would be a plus

Desirable experience - cloud DB admin in Azure and/or AWS

My client is a leading hedge fund based in London and is looking to expand its DBA engineering function due to the growing needs in the business. The environment is largely based around SQL Server technologies and the Microsoft platform. The team has multi-faceted skillsets including data warehouse architecture, Business Intelligence solutions, and database administration. The team is driven by the desire to attain high levels of professional excellence, delivering successful and lasting database solutions to the business.

Successful candidates will almost certainly have a computer science based degree from reputabale university. A demonstrable track working in a large and complex database enivonments working at top tier end user organisations. Typical orgnisations my client is interested in seeing candidates from would include: Big Tech, hedge or prop trading firms, commodities trading firms, rapidly growing fintech companies, large and complex consumer lead retail businesses or investment banks.
