Project Manager (Contract)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £450 - 500 per day
 
Project Manager required to work with a large government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying £500 per day, inside IR35, hybrid working (1-2 days onsite per week in London).

You will require active SC Clearance.
As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in providing project support within a high-profile and fast-moving programme. You will be responsible for supporting Senior Project Managers on a policy project, implementing a new legislation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Providing clarity on the project timeline to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes of a project can be achieved, with the resources available.
  • Support effective transition between project phases.
  • Support on the Business Case and/or support development of the programme business case, with input from specialists as necessary.
  • Support the development of the budget and track delivery within budget.
  • Identify skill requirements; and deploy and develop resources.
  • Ensure strategic and operational risks and issues are identified, prioritised, assessed, and appropriate mitigating actions developed, implemented and monitored throughout the life of the project.
  • Engage with assurance reviews and support action on recommendations. Organise assurance processes such as gateway reviews, as required.
  • Ensure effective Change Management processes are in place to agree and document changes to deliverables as agreed with stakeholders.
  • Provide support, guidance and coaching for the project team.
Essential Experience and Requirements:
  • Active SC Clearance
  • Experience having supported and/or delivered a policy project.
  • Experience in working on either complex or high-risk projects within agreed time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Credible and proactive in dealing with a broad and complex range of stakeholders.
