We are looking for a Automation Test Engineer who can work in a support team and develop automation Test Scripts based in Leeds, UK - Permanent - SC Cleared.
Job Summary:
The primary focus of this role will be to ensure the quality and reliability of fixes/changes applied to software applications. The Test Engineer will be responsible for carrying out key tasks such as regression testing, performance testing, creating test cases/test scripts, producing appropriate documentation, and reporting results. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in functional and automation testing and possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 3 (L3) support 24/7 (including out of hour on-call support) for technical issues within the IT infrastructure.
- Define and Execute the test plan ensuring that the delivery of that testing is in alignment with the applicable standards and policies.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that software applications function properly after changes have been made
- Create, update and maintain automation scripts using automated test tools such as Unified Functional Testing, AXE by Odin and Selenium
- Test and Defect Management tool using Team Foundation Server (TFS)/MS Test Manager.
- Performance testing to evaluate the speed, scalability, and stability of software applications using performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner
- Create test cases/test scripts based on software requirements and specifications
- Execute test cases/test scripts and record the results
- Identify and report software defects and track them through to resolution
- Collaborate with development/product team members to understand software changes and their impact on testing
- Communicate testing progress, issues, and risks to project stakeholders
- Maintain a high level of quality and accuracy in all work tasks
- Perform Incident management in terms of:
- Major/Minor Incidents
- Root Causes
- Resolutions
- Improvement actions/Problems management
- Knowledge management
