HAYS are currently partnered with a key Central Government department who are looking to bring in an experienced Cloud Engineer to help kick off the start of a new migration project going live at the turn of the new financial year. The right candidate will play a vital part in coordinating, planning & executing the migration to ensure a smooth and successful transition.

The role:

• Job type: Contract
• Day rate: £550 - £650 (dependent on experience)
• Location: Central London (hybrid working dependent)
• Client: Central Government department

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with technical and application owners to gather necessary information to ensure successful migration as well as third party vendors and service providers.
• Working with Technical Director, Solutions Architect and other Senior engineers on leading solution design, planning and implementation on projects such as Office Fit-Outs, Server & Network Installations, Office 365, SharePoint & Azure Environments.
• Documentation: Document migration procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions.
• Create comprehensive reports on bug fixes and improvements.
• Provide training sessions for end-users to familiarise them with the new Cloud platform.
• Supporting other Technical Leads and internal teams where needed to ensure success.

The successful applicant will have experience in the following areas:

• Experience working in a Cloud/Infrastructure Engineer capacity
• Experienced in Application migrations from On-Prem to AWS/Azure Cloud
• Experience with Scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps etc.
• A strong understanding/knowledge working with Cloud platforms AWS & Azure (GCP experience not necessary but appreciated)
• Good understanding of networking technologies, 3rd party Firewalls, routing protocols, Azure based networking
• Experience of designing, deploying and administering cloud based solutions
• Strong experience of either current or recent work in the Public Sector (ideally Central Government but not vital)
