Security & Information Risk Advisor (Contract)

Location: Scotland Country: UK Rate: £550 - £600 per day
 

  • 12 month contract
  • Mostly remote working - Occasional onsite in Scotland
  • £550-600 per day outside IR35

Security Information Risk Advisor

Our public sector client is looking for an experienced Security Information Risk Advisor to provide teams for risk identification, analysis, evaluation and treatment, and to develop, operate, maintain and improve the organisation's ISMS.

Skills:

  • Analytical skills: The ability to approach problems and issues with regard for information security and risk. Use techniques to analyst information with scope and formulate resolve to maintain objective/achieve outcome.
  • Communication: The ability to facilitate engagement between non-technical, technical and non-information security colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Competency: Understanding of the objective of Information Security, Risk Management and the ability to mentor teams and colleagues.
  • Secure Systems Engineering: The ability to collaborate with PMs to promote Secure Systems Engineering and Architecture Principles to ensure a risk-based approach is undertaken as part of system acquisition, development and maintenance

Knowledge of:

  • Identification, assessment, and management of risk
  • Security assurance and the measurement of controls
  • Creation of ISMS and IT Security documentation (Policies, Standards, Processes, Procedures and Patterns)
  • Internal and Third-Party Audits
  • Risk and threat modelling
  • Compliance and Assurance Activities
  • Business process analysis and mapping (to determine alignment against agreed industry practice and recognised control frameworks)

Must Have Experience:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor of Management Systems (including Information, Security and Business Continuity)
  • Technical Risk assessment within Government departments
