Location: Scotland Country: UK Rate: £350 - £400 per day + Inside Ir35
 

IT Channel and Content Manager

12 month contract inside IR35

Responsibilities:

Development and coordination of the Transmission IT communications:

  • Develop and maintain a clear IT internal communications calendar; ensuring alignment with key business objectives and milestones; and timely preparation and planning to maximise engagement and the effectiveness of the communications.
  • Collaborate with all Transmission IT team to integrate communication updates and key messages into the overall communications plan and calendar.
  • Liaise with the Transmission Internal Communication team so the IT Change activities are integrated as part of the overarching Transmission schedule of events/calendar.

Developing the Effectiveness of our IT Internal Communication Channels:

  • Implement new digital communication solutions where appropriate and demonstrate communication channel thought leadership.
  • Explore ways in which we can increase the use of digital communication and engagement solutions that enhance the impact users change experience.
  • Take a lead on the management of our Transmission IT Intranet (built on SharePoint), includes managing the day to day processes of updating and sharing content, whilst driving improvements that enable improved engagement.
  • Working with the various IT teams and stakeholders to ensure effective and timely communications.

IT Content Development and Delivery:

  • Develop and design communication materials which demonstrate how Transmission, our digital programme and our Cyber programme support the successful delivery of our digital strategy and Network for NetZero by 2030 ambition.
  • Design and delivery of the monthly IT village hall sessions, working in partnership with the CIO to agree the schedule and running order.
  • Lead on the planning and deliver of our regular Transmission IT campaigns, including oversight and management of all logistics for any in-person session.
  • Manage the production of regulatory updates, working along
  • our PMO team. Co-ordinate content development, edit as appropriate and arrange sign- off. Arrange specialist support from the Internal Communication team with the typesetting and design if necessary.
  • Provide expertise and input to support our teams in communication techniques, ideas and landing their key messages with different audiences.

IT Channel Management/Continuous Improvement

  • Utilise established methods to evaluate effectiveness of communications and make incremental improvements.
  • Understand through feedback what is good and not so about our current approach, both proactively and in response to communications activities.

About You - What we are looking for

  • Previous experience of making an impact using engaging communication techniques and content in a medium sized growing business.
  • Effective content creation skills, including strong copywriting, an eye for design, video creation.
  • Effective influencing and stakeholder management skills and experience, ability to deliver and embed changes in ways of working.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • It sounds obvious but great communication skills, ability to engage different audiences and have real impact.
  • Up to date knowledge of different communications tools and platforms, understanding how these can be used to best effect.
  • Passion, energy and enthusiasm. The ability to come with new ideas and secure buy-in from senior stakeholders.

Communication Channel expertise

Experience of using a range of software to design, deliver and mange interna communications:

  • SharePoint - including the creation of Intranet style pages (visual impact/site navigation/wireframes)
  • M365 suite, including video editing solutions
  • Poppulo or a similar email distribution solution
  • Canva
  • Mentimeter/Slack
  • Photoshop or other imagery editing platform
