Principal Mechanical Engineer - Building Services (Permanent)

Location: Manchester/Remote Country: UK Rate: £60k - £75k
 

Exciting Opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer

Are you an experienced mechanical building services design engineer looking for a new challenge? Join a growing, multi-award-winning practice at the Principal or Associate level, depending on your experience. Lynx is working with a building services specialist at the forefront of delivering sustainable MEP design and helping businesses and organisations achieve net zero carbon emissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a wide range of small to large projects within building services and net zero design teams
  • Be client-facing on matters of both a commercial and technical nature
  • Take an active role in business development and project planning
  • Lead the mechanical design team in coordinating and delivering individual projects
  • Develop and mentor junior engineers
  • Produce detailed engineering designs using industry-standard software

Ideal Candidate:

  • BEng or MEng Degree qualified
  • Chartered Engineer status
  • Healthcare sector experience or transferable skills, including cleanroom/laboratory design experience
  • Ten years' UK-based post-graduate experience in a design consultancy
  • Member of associated professional bodies such as MCIBSE or MIMechE
  • Exceptional skills in mechanical building services design and awareness of technical requirements, legislation, and best practice
  • Strong commercial knowledge and project management skills
  • Enthusiasm, a positive 'can-do' attitude, and flexibility
