Corporate Accountant

Oliver James are working with one of our Lloyds Specialist clients to recruit a Corporate Accountant to join the team. This role will support the delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting of UK entities.

You will be responsible for but not restricted to the below responsibilities:

• Responsible for the monthly preparation and reconciliation of journal entries
• Support the Senior Corporate Accountant in maintaining the integrity of service company general ledgers and overall control environment. Ensuring correct allocation of costs, robust financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations are completed and signed off.
• Assist in preparation of service company related financial information
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly management information packs with commentary
• Production of Statutory Accounts for the Group service companies. Including liaising with key external advisers.
• Support the development of the group financial control framework including strong financial control standards and KPI reporting.
• To design and automate Group Finance reports as appropriate
• Support and implement changes to core business finance processes where required
• To act as subject matter expert in technical accounting and be able to apply technical accounting with relevant business knowledge.
• To train junior staff members

To be successful you'll need the following:

• Qualified Accountant with good experience within Financial Control (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• A good understanding of UK GAAP, specifically Insurance accounting
• Experience from a Big 4 Practice is preferred
• Experience of embedding change and process improvement
• Experience with Microsoft office applications
