Hybrid 3 days on site. 2 days remote

Our client is currently looking for a Design Project Manager. They will be reporting to the Framework Design Manager and will be responsible for the design delivery of non-infrastructure wastewater projects on the Severn Trent Water AMP7 and AMP8 Frameworks.

This position calls for a dynamic professional with experience working within the water sector, specifically non-infrastructure wastewater, in either Mechanical, Electrical ICA or Civils disciplines in maintenance, design, or capital delivery roles.

Design Project manager Requirements.

  • Adept at engaging with multiple teams to pioneer production thinking and carbon-efficient designs.
  • A profound understanding of design delivery processes, including procurement, management, and control, is essential.
  • Mastery of quality assurance and BIM to ISO 19650 standards is expected, alongside a practical knowledge of identifying design scope and deliverables.
  • A proactive approach to reviewing and challenging design programmes, managing deliverables and changes, and ensuring solutions meet the client's affordability and low carbon requirements.
  • The role demands an individual capable of hosting and documenting design meetings, focusing on briefing, progress, and coordination, as well as facilitating buildability, carbon, and DfMA workshops.
  • Coordinating design reviews, technical assurance, and CDM reviews, while also implementing and managing the project BIM strategy. Support for the framework nominated principal designer is a key aspect of the role.
  • Close liaison with the Project Team is vital to inform procurement decisions for each work package, ensuring seamless integration and execution of design elements.
  • A proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to sustainable design principles. This role offers the chance to contribute significantly to the water sector, ensuring future projects not only meet but exceed environmental and client standards.

Design Project Manager Skills and qualifications.

  • HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline, progressing towards chartered professional review with relevant chartered body
  • Driving licence
  • Good technical understanding of water and wastewater processes and asset types
  • Commercial and contractual appreciation to support the required commercial outcomes.
  • Good understanding of programme preparation and management experience.
  • Knowledge of CD (2015) Regulations.
  • Experience of delivering multi-disciplinary design and construction projects.
