Group Technical Accountant - Hybrid / Remote

LHH are currently working with a leading international charity with the recruitment of a Group Technical Accountant role on a permanent basis. Reporting into the Group Accounting Manager you will ensure that the charity is compliant with FRS, Charity SORP and other statutory/regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will ideally be working in a technical/financial reporting role within another charity or be looking to make the first move from an accountancy practice into industry and be willing to take on a role that will focus on accounting standards and making sure the group remains up to date and compliant with IFRS developments.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation and review of FRS and UKGAAP reporting and technical accounting papers
• Advice, support and consult stakeholders in relation to technical accounting issues, and provide technical expertise on complex accounting issues
• Liaison with auditors on technical accounting issues
• Interpret and implement new IFRS developments/standards, including assisting with the project management and oversight of significant changes in standards impacting the Group's reporting processes, and advice on preparing external disclosure notes
• Provide internal and ad-hoc training and advice on technical accounting, new developments and standards and technical accounting leadership and support for ongoing and new projects
• Provide analytics, guidance and support on specific technical accounting areas such as Fixed Assets, End of Service Benefits, VAT and other tax issues including responding to service desk tickets and the month end processes

Key skills/experience required:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Proven technical knowledge of IFRS standards
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong process improvement background

The Group Technical Accountant role is being recruited on either a hybrid or fully remote basis (please note you will need to travel to the Sussex based office once per quarter for meetings and you must be UK based).

Salary is up to 51k max plus excellent pension and benefits.
