Senior Database Architect: SQL Server, Oracle, Azure, Database, Insurance
We are supporting a Global Insurer's initiative to build out their Database function with a dedicated team of Database experts. As part of this expansion, a Senior Database Architect is required to define & design Database architecture solutions for the database landscape. In a multi-platform environment, you will lead the design & development of scalable database architecture solutions.
You will join a brand-new team, working alongside other architects, DBAs and application developers. You will be well versed in designing SQL & Oracle database solutions and delivering migration projects to Azure. As part of this data-driven business, you will play a key role in increasing database capabilities & innovating automation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the end-to-end design & implementation of Database infrastructure solutions
- Identifying gaps & opportunities in Database landscape
- Build relationships across the Business' Data & Applications services
- Play a key role in evaluating architecture & recommending new software & toolings
- Work alongside Database Engineers & Application support teams through to implementation
Requirements:
- Experience designing architecture solutions for SQL Server and Oracle
- Knowledge of Azure environments and delivering migration projects
- An understanding of Microsoft technologies is required. Oracle knowledge is also desirable
- Knowledge of backup and restore processes is needed
- An understanding Relational Database Management System architecture and how it relates to the application landscape
