Speech and Language TA

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a experienced Teaching Assistant to join this popular secondary school where you will be working with the speech and language team in their resource base. This is a full time, long-term role starting in September

The School:

A highly respected, oversubscribed community school with a rich history, committed to the academic, spiritual, and personal development of each individual. The school has a Speech and Language Resource Base (SLRB) which opened in September 2022. This is a resource base for students with an EHCP and a diagnosis of developmental language. The students in the resource base have the majority of their lessons in mainstream classes, and their teachers are closely supported by the SLRB teacher, Speech and Language Therapists and Learning Support Assistants to support them. In addition, the students in the SLRB have small group lessons with the SLRB teacher to develop their expressive and receptive language skills, numeracy skills and life skills.

As a SEN TA you will be responsible for the below:

• Working on a one to one basis or in small groups with students to develop speech and language skills
• Implement individualised education plans in collaboration with speech therapists and teachers
• Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Provide guidance and support during classroom activities and assessments
• Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals

To join us and be successful in this role you will need:

• Previous experience working within SEN
• Knowledge of speech and language difficulties
• Speech and language training such as ELKLAN would be beneficial
• An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
• Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
• Legal right to work in the UK
