Overview

Working: The role is office/hybrid based with occasional travel to other company/customer's sites in the UK or abroad.

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that the company products meet the customers' requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather, analyse, and manage requirements for our hardware products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with project engineering leads, engineers, and customers to gather and document requirements for new and existing products.
  • Analyse and prioritise requirements to ensure that they align with product vision and specific standards, including testing and evidencing that the requirements have been met.
  • Develop and maintain a requirements management system to track changes and ensure that all stakeholders are aware of updates.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure that requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
  • Work with project managers to ensure that requirements are managed whilst balancing cost, quality and schedule.

Experience needed:

  • Ideally qualified to degree-level or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering based subject, such as; Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, DOORS or Jama
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement development methodologies.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Defence/Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous
  • Experience in the Naval/Maritime domain would be advantageous.
