HawkEye 360 (HE360) is currently seeking an AWS Architect/Platform Engineer to provide expert-level contributions to the Platform Engineering team. The Platform Engineering team enables fellow team members to build secure, performant, efficient, and cost-effective systems and tools supporting the HawkEye mission.
The successful candidate will help shape the next generation platform by providing expert insights to improve the existing system and turn ideas into deployed production capabilities. The Platform Engineer will report to the Director of Platform Engineering, and interface with directors and engineers throughout the Product and Technology organization.As the AWS Architect/Platform Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:Develop and deploy critical infrastructure in AWS for HawkEye 360's collection and analytics servicesGuide and mentor teammates to automate and simplify daily development and deployment processesEnsure integrity and security of HE360 systems and dataCollaborate across teams to understand requirements, use cases, and functionality and incorporate this information into the HE360 architecture and implementationRecommend improvements to existing software programs as necessaryWork with the Director to capture and analyze requirements from internal customers and plan changes to the architecture to meet the functional needs of the organizationYour skills and qualifications: Essential education and experience:Broad knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and deployment stackKnowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) technology stack; particularly deploying and maintaining EKS, EC2, RDS, S3/EBS/EFS.
Good understanding of development and security best-practices, utilizing least-privilege concepts for access controlExperience with Software Operations, to include managing and troubleshooting production systemsExperience deploying and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using terraform, ansibleExperience deploying and configuring applications to run on Kubernetes clusters using HelmFamiliarity monitoring and optimizing database instancesAn understanding of basic Networking concepts to include TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, firewalls, basic routing concepts, and load balancersKnowledge of Linux operating systems and installing and configuring security patches10+ years professional experience working and leading DevOps teamsM.S. or B.S. in Computer Science or related engineering fieldExcellent written and oral communication skillsDesirable:? AWS Certification covering Developer, Solutions Architect or SysOps subject matter (Professional-level certifications preferred)Experience with Keycloak, Okta or other OIDC/SAML-based SSO & Auth servicesExperience configuring a SAAS-based ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)Experience building and updating secure Docker images to deploy custom applicationsExperience with database administrator tasks on PostgreSQL databasesFamiliarity Metrics & Monitoring tooling (Grafana or similar)Experience with Tableau and SnowflakeBase Salary Range: $150,000 - $185,000 annually HawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits.
