Role OverviewIn this role you'll report directly to the Head of National Broker Relations. This role will also work closely with the Field Leadership Team and Regional Managers aligning strategy, engagement, and connectivity across the US Market - amplifying At-Bay's wholesale and retail strategy, enhancing relationships, identifying new opportunities, and driving strategic engagement. You'll also ensure success from on-boarding through launch of new brokerage appointments and continue to develop the relationship as the partnership and business grows over time.

ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be proactive in building relationships with brokers at all levels including senior executives, client executives, producers and placement brokers, and must be comfortable connecting brokerage contacts to the appropriate At-Bay resources including underwriting, claims, and security services.The Business Development Manager will work with At-Bay's Regional Managers and underwriters to develop regional business plans that drive growth, optimize our portfolio of products and services, generate new opportunities, and retain renewals.The Business Development Manager will conduct planned brokerage visits within an assigned territory to develop new accounts, service existing accounts, review broker performance and improve the broker relationship with At-Bay.

Supports Regional Managers and underwriters by reinforcing At-Bay's product appetite, coverage options, pricing, claims handling, and security service capabilities.The Business Development Manager will be vigilant and informed of market conditions and the competitive landscape and proactively offer analysis, strategies, and solutions to the business.The Business Development Manager will manage, report, and track distribution partner results against our target KPIs and be held accountable for delivering solutions and budgeted goals.

Maintain seamless alignment with At-Bay's other market-facing executives throughout the development and execution of strategic broker initiatives.Attributes and Qualifications Minimum of 7+ years' experience in the US commercial insurance industryKnowledge and established relationships within the US commercial insurance industry - with a preference towards candidates in carrier roles facing off with the US wholesale and retail brokerage segmentCandidate should have working knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing and coverages prevalent in middle market professional lines products including cyber, MPL, and Tech E&OThe ideal candidate will have an exceptional reputation in the market with national insurance carriers, brokers, and other relevant stakeholders.Strategic mindset to assess how At-Bay can differentiate from its competitors and an open-minded approach to considering and developing alternative and non-traditional distribution opportunities.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, who maintains the highest-level of personal accountability. Equally as important, this person must have the charisma and executive presence to influence and build meaningful relationships with a broad and diverse set of wholesale and retail brokersPassionate about the business and takes a sincere interest in the success of customers and partnersThis candidate must be a phenomenally effective communicator, with outstanding experience calling on and negotiating with the brokerage community.Recognize development needs and coach to improve performance - and ensure that colleagues and teams have the support and resources needed to be successful.
