GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT: The Helmer Informatics Lab, affiliated with the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, is seeking a Data Manager with a bachelor's degree, for a full-time position managing and supporting a wide variety of primarily imaging-based medical and scientific studies.

The Data Manager will be working with a talented multidisciplinary team of programmers, web developers, and data analysts. This position requires demonstrated competency in working with data, creating reports and visualizations, and managing data-related requests by study staff. This position also requires maturity, ability to work independently, attention to detail, and excellent organizational and communication (including written) skills.

The successful applicant must be able to perform detail-oriented work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects.The projects served by the Lab all focus on knowledge discovery in the medical domain, from discovering new biomarkers to the testing of new interventions. These projects have a public web presence and serve both to make informational content available to the public as well as act as a front end for a web-based infrastructure for the management, movement, curation, and sharing of a large, heterogeneous data sets.

The goal of several of these projects is to provide data to the larger scientific community so that the data may be reused, and new knowledge generated.This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-visibility scientific projects with the potential for high impact on patient care in a collegial, academic work environment, the opportunity to enhance a work portfolio, and the opportunity to continuously learn new skills.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Gather application requirements from end users and transmit those requirements to the programming staffCreate data reports and visualizations to assist Recruitment and Retention Project Manager in tracking site and study progress (involves working with databases) Work with end users to resolve issues through direct assistance or by triaging issuesWork with PI to identify workflow and pipeline issuesCreate and edit documentation Track team progress on project deliverablesContribute to documents, including budgets, for project reporting requirementsAttend and contribute to project meetingsSKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Demonstrated expertise with the following:Databases (NoSQL preferred)Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Ability to work on multiple projects and task switch as requiredExcellent attention to detailAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamStrong interpersonal and time management skills Demonstrate an eagerness to learnEnglish language fluencyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsQualificationsEDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's DegreeEXPERIENCE:Experience of working with and managing data in a team environment is preferred.
