The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports general operation, inspection, and building maintenance. This includes HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, systems in assigned facilities. Assists site Operations Manager and other technicians in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. Performs inspections and repairs to interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, furniture, etc.

What is your day to day?

  • Completing preventive maintenance and repair work orders in mixed lab and office facility.
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
  • General knowledge of building mechanical systems, including but not limited to, HVAC, Pumps, Motors, Chillers, AHUs, RTUS, Fan coils, Boilers and HWH.
  • General interior maintenance and light drywall/carpentry tasks.
  • Basic plumbing skills, sink, faucet, toilet repair, etc.
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment and/or as directed.
  • Replace lighting and ballasts.
  • Perform Vehicle and equipment Safety Inspections.
  • Escalating problems or issues to Customer and Manager in a timely manner.
  • Attend work and safety meetings as required.
  • Be available for rotating on-call schedule.
  • Eager to learn from the existing team as well as bring personal experience to the group.
  • Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary
  • Understand and follow PPE requirements and signage.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Must complete all required safety trainings as scheduled.

Work Schedule

Dayshift, Monday - Friday + On Call

Required

  • High school diploma
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Legible handwriting
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Working from heights.
  • Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
  • Working in adverse conditions (ie, extreme cold, extreme hot)
  • Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb. weight limit while carrying a tool bag.
  • Understanding of Good Documentation Practices.
  • Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Ability to navigate the web-based work order system to update and close out Work Orders in a timely manner.
  • Comfortable using Outlook mail and calendar as well as Microsoft word and Excel.

Preferred

  • A minimum of 3 years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
  • Experience in healthcare, or pharmaceutical environments a plus.
