How You Will Make an Impact:The Single Use Division (SUD) is a >$1.2B division, comprised of 3 separate business units, within the BioProduction Group, which offers a variety of equipment, automation and consumable solutions for Biotech, Pharmaceutical and CDMO customer applications.
Seeking a Finance Director who will provide finance and business partnering leadership to the SUD Operations team. This role will lead a finance and accounting team of 10 members and be the primary business partner for the SUD VP of Operations. This role will ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and timely and accurate financial reporting, consistent with USGAAP and local reporting requirements.
In addition, the position holder will provide valuable decision support, identify and implement operational improvement opportunities and develop a strong finance team.What You Will Do:Drive AOP/QBR/STRAP, in a matrixed financial forecast, ensure financial decisions support company STRAP/AOP and current market environmentCommunicate results to the broader organization and ensure alignment on key financial goalsDevelop and lead analytical methods for exploratory and explanatory business insightsLead financial modeling for key investment and STRAP objectivesAccelerate decision making via development and utilizing of visualization toolsDevelop operational metrics/contingenciesRecommend financial risk mgt strategies/perform market impact analysis, articulate and demonstrate knowledge of key profit drivers for the business, understand drivers and market forces and impact on future business prospectsBuild and develop a successful teamPrimary office at Waltham, MA, USA or Carlsbad, CA, USAHow You Will Get Here:EducationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business related field requiredCPA, CMA, MBA strongly desiredExperienceExcellent academic credentials and strong finance abilitiesExperience in leading and running a distributed teamPrior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organizationProficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamicsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesExcellent spoken and written communication skills are required to collaborate with various partners.Able to deliver high quality effective presentation and understands and deploys best tools/methods to effectively communicate complex topicsSelf-motivated, higher level of flexibility and strong work ethic with the goal to get the job doneTravel requirements 15% domestic/international travel requiredAt Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 100,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
