Opportunity for an experienced Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary Surgeon to join T he Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health . This surgeon will practice in Tacoma on the campus of St. Joseph Medical Center, a comprehensive medical center serving the South Puget Sound region. Duties will also include being core faculty for the St. Joseph Hospital General Surgery Residency Program .
Responsibilities
- Participate in teaching of residents and multidisciplinary care of complex HPB patients as a member of the Center for Digestive Health at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health.
- Practice Call. No General Surgery Call.
- Willingness to travel to and work at satellite facilities if needed
- Works with ambulatory leadership, hospital leadership, and Center leaders as
needed to resolve operational or clinical support challenges.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree
- 3+ years of HPB surgery or HPB surgical oncology practice experience
- Board certified in General Surgery (ABS)
- Accredited-HPB Surgery and/or Surgical Oncology fellowship trained
- Experience in both advanced liver and pancreatic surgery, including minimally
invasive and robotic surgical approaches - Ability to obtain privileges at VMFH hospitals
- Ability to obtain a medical professional license in the state of WA
- Ability to obtain a DEA license with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice
- Must be a physician in good standing
- No undisclosed conflicts of interest
