Job Summary
:The BDO National Tax Office (NTO) Advisory practice provides technical leadership and support to firm client service professionals and alliance firms on tax matters, new legislation and Treasury guidance, articles on key tax issues and working with marketing and Tax quality control to ensure high level of information that is disseminated internally and externally. The Tax Managing Director, NTO-A, International Tax will collaborate amongst NTO professionals and with tax leadership to drive communication efficiencies.

A Tax Managing Director, NTO-A, International Tax serves as a technical resource to the BDO practice offices around the country with a focus on complex international tax issues. The Tax Managing Director, NTO-A, International Tax is a critical part of the firms Tax Services leadership team and in this capacity will act as source for guidance on complex tax questions and issues. The role will focus on developing in conjunction with our internal Tax Performance Engineering team a comprehensive model for use in analyzing and advising clients on key quantitative elements of U.S.

international tax law (eg., GILTI, BEAT, foreign tax credit). This role will work closely with the NTO International Tax (ITS) Practice Leader to design and implement a go-to market strategy for the firm's ITS quantitative consulting initiatives.

Job Duties:Tax SpecializationLead development of BDO ITS quantitative analysis toolPrepare and review slide decks, memorandums and opinions relating to international tax mattersDraft tax alerts for internal and external distribution on international tax developments (regulations, notices, cases, etc.) Prepare and review technical materials for international tax trainings for the firmPresent at international technical trainings for the firmAssist with drafting external articles on international tax mattersAssist practice offices in structuring complex cross-border transactionsAssist practice office with complex quantitative based consulting engagementsStrengthening Our FirmActively participates in office, regional, and national client service effortsActively participates in national, regional, Firm, and Alliance meetings and supports related activitiesActively participates in national Industry initiativesEnsures the national business line conforms with the Firm's technical standards by examining office review reports from the Director of Quality Control and Technical advisorsRisk ManagementDisplays appropriate knowledge of firm regulations and guidelines as stated in the firm's business line quality control manuals Provides on-the-job trainingPuts the interests of the Firm above the interests of a client when resolving issuesEngages BDO technical, tax, consulting, valuation, and other professionals to resolve client issuesOther duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities: Supervises the day-to-day workload of Tax Managers, Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns on assigned engagements and reviews work product and ensures their technical developmentDelivers periodic performance feedback and completes performance evaluations for Tax Managers, Senior Associates and Associates and InternsActs as mentor to Tax Managers, Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns, as appropriateQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Education:Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Accounting or Finance, preferredLLM Tax and/or MST/MBT, preferredExperience:Ten (10) or more years of experience in international taxation or related experience, requiredExperience working with a global accounting firm office or large law firm, preferredLicense/Certifications:CPA or JD, requiredSoftware:Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint preferredExperience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis and/or Westlaw preferredLanguage:N/AOther Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSuperior analytical and legal and tax research skills including building models and analysis of financial and numerical dataSolid organizational skills especially ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on detailsAbility to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environmentAbility to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to effectively manage a team of tax professionals and delegating work assignments as neededCapacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnelExecutive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagementsAbility to successfully interact with professionals at all levelsAbility to prepare tax provisions and reviewsAdvanced knowledge of sources of relevant information utilized in tax filings as well as the most widely-used filing forms and awareness of other less widely used formsAdvanced understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation and lawAdvanced knowledge and understanding of general calculations and cause/effect for taxable conditions on clients and the potential tax issuesStrong legal writing background and familiarity with the IRAC method of analysisJoin us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you'll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
