The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, a member of the Steward Health Care system, is seeking a full- time Board-Certified fellowship-trained Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist. Clinical responsibilities include office practice and hospital consultations for high-risk pregnancy management, routine and high-resolution ultrasound, prenatal diagnosis, and antepartum testing. The position will be primarily based at St Elizabeth Medical Center as well as providing MFM services to other Massachusetts Steward Hospitals: Good Samaritan and Holy Family hospitals.

St. Elizabeths Medical Center is in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, near some of Bostons major universities. The hospital serves a diverse patient population from the Boston area and beyond. St. Elizabeths Medical Center serves as the tertiary care hospital for Steward Health Care in Massachusetts and is a teaching hospital of Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine. This position features a medical school Faculty appointment commensurate with background and experience. The St. Margarets Center for Women and Infants at St. Elizabeths Medical Center offers an intimate, personalized patient care experience with expert doctors, physician assistants, nurse midwives, and nurses.

  • Growing busy practice with three Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians and a Nurse Practitioner across the system with obstetrical services at encompassing about 3000 newborns annually.
  • Level 4 maternity rating and Level 3 NICU with full-time on-site neonatology
  • St Elizabeth serves as a teaching site for medical students and PA students from Boston University and Tufts University.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to collegial and evidence-based practice and patient care as well as resident and medical student education.
  • Other subspecialties: including gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery specialists are part of our department.

Requirements include:

  • Board Certified in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Massachusetts Licensed
  • At least five (5) years of MFM experienced with leadership and administrative experience.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization to promote a culture of patient safety and participate in performance improvement initiatives

Candidates for the position of Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine at St. Elizabeths Medical Center will be part of the development of a national MFM telehealth service, which would provide services to patients across a network of Steward sites. Candidates with a special interest and personal experience in telemedicine with a focus on optimizing care across a large integrated health care system and an accountable care organization may further explore this additional unique opportunity.
