The Endovascular Operating Room (EVOR) is a high-functioning specialized surgical department for patients requiring various endovascular and/or open surgical repairs of arterial and venous structures. This unit services all ages from young adult to geriatric populations, and procedures will carry all anesthesia classifications, ranging from routine-elective to hyperacute emergent salvage patients. Various procedures incurred in EVOR include, but are not limited to, endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR), open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (AAA), thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), carotid endarterectomy, femoral endarterectomy, femoral popliteal bypass, femoral tibial bypass, arteriovenous fistula or graft creation or revision, aorto-bifemoral bypass, placement of intravascular stents, embolization of vascular structures, diagnostic peripheral angiograms and peripheral revascularization, leg amputations, and other emergent vascular repair cases. EVOR nurses are involved in preoperative patient preparation performing critical patient assessments. Nurse's primary roles are exemplified in the actual operating room suites by assisting the surgeon, anesthesiologist, scrub and other nursing roles. EVOR nurses will engage in interdepartmental communication with various other departments including but not limited to laboratory, blood bank and pathology, radiology, same-day surgery, PACU, cath lab, and nursing administration.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
  • License: current RN license in our state
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
