This team member will be responsible for the protection and control engineering work for the substation, from the front-end to the execution and delivery of the Project.

Ideally this team member will be based in Houston, Texas or New York, NY or Trenton, New Jersey or Boston, Massachusetts. The location of the role is flexible, and other locations within the US can also be considered.Mid-Atlantic Offshore Development, LLC is a 50:50 partnership between Shell New Energies US, LLC and EDF Renewables North America.

The Joint Venture company was formed to respond to the PJM New Jersey Transmission RFP to meet New Jersey's goal of facilitating delivery of 7,500 megawatts of offshore wind energy by 2035. On October 26, 2022, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) selected Mid-Atlantic Offshore Development, LLC and Jersey Central Power & Light Company's jointly submitted Larrabee Tri-Collector Solution for New Jersey's inaugural offshore wind coordinated transmission solution under PJM's State Agreement Approach (SAA).A key component of the Tri-Collector Solution is the Larrabee Collector Station (LCS), referred to as the Project, that will be developed, constructed, and operated by Mid-Atlantic Offshore Development.

This onshore electrical substation is first of its kind in the US - where coordinated transmission, will enable for up to 4 offshore wind farms to tie into an HVDC converter station and minimize permitting, community impacts, and environmental impacts.Accountabilities: Lead the protection and control engineering work for the Project during FEED, detailed design and constructionProvide design guidance and technical verification of the P&C works, including review of employer's requirements and technical specifications, guidance inputs for the design and construction phasesActively participate in the development of the Scope of work for the RFP, in the technical review of the proposals and the selection of the main contractorParticipate in project team meetings and due diligence reviews to provide input and feedback and share lessons learnedInterface with other technical, development, and commercial teams to ensure communication of required inputs and outputsConduct site visits during construction to ensure compliance with design, technical specifications, and requirementsRequirementsMust have legal authorization to work in the USA on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer5+ years of relevant work experience within wind and/or other electrical generation sectorsBachelor's Degree in Engineering is requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) license is desiredDemonstrated experience in electrical engineering discipline including experience working on electrical substation or other related projectsThe base salary range for this position is $146,000.00 - $218,000.00 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave to birthing mothers, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.

Additionally, employees are eligible for disability leave for up to 52 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
