We want to make flying as ubiquitous as the road and as safe as the elevator.SENIOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER, FLIGHT CONTROL COMPUTER - EL SEGUNDO, CAIn this role, you are responsible for the development of the Fly-By-Wire and Display software starting with software requirements specification, software design, verification and validation of the software per ARP 4754A, DO178C, DO 331, and DO 330 requirements and facilitate all FAA/DER reviews (SOI-1 to SOI-4) You will assist in the development of certifiable flight automation technologies and cost-efficient processes for the new Urban Commercial Aviation industry. RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, develop software for flight automation working with system engineers and system architects leading to certificationSupport the development of low level drivers in embedded CTest embedded software components to interface and control various peripherals such as motors, encoders, heaters, and sensorsDevelop software and firmware to communicate with custom and 3rd party motion controllersWrite, review, and approve system and software requirements and design documentsPerform other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering discipline 8+ years of professional working experienceSelf starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision to influence organizationExperience in developing software requirements, design, test and verification documentsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering disciplineProficiency with some of the following tools: MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE, LabVIEW, SolidWorks, C/C+, PythonExperience with RTOSExperience with certification of software, systems and subsystems working with DER/FAASelf starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision to influence organization WHY SKYRYSE?The opportunity to change the world through improving aviation safety and accessibility Salary Range: $165,000 - $195,000Valuable stock option planHeavily subsidized medical, dental and vision plansFull-time employees are eligible for 20 days of paid time off (PTO) and 5 sick days annually.
