As a key member of the Finance Team, the Senior Manager will serve as a business partner for operations and programs teams, and supervise accounting, audit, tax, treasury and related. In addition, the Senior Manager will partner with the Head of Finance in support of FP&A, portfolio management, functional approvals for programmatic investments (including grants, project funding and for-profit investments), systems improvements, and continuous development of finance as a strategic function in service of the organization's mission. Omidyar Network employs a flexible capital model including operating LLCs, fund LLCs and 501(c)3.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Accounting and Operational Finance Supervise external and internal accounting teams and oversee global consolidation and eliminations in a multi-entity, multi-country environment (for seven for-profit entities and one non-profit entity), including investment accounting and for impact investment portfolio ($120M AUM), endowment ($500M), and grant roll-forward for the FoundationLead annual audit and preparation of all required tax reportingLiaise with family office to support all tax, compliance, reporting and cash-forecasting needs (ie. FBAR filings, estimated tax projections, etc.)Manage financial policies, processes and controls - including financial systems oversight, administration, integration, reporting and permissionsEnsure oversight of bank account management, signatories and compliance and cash flow forecasting based on disbursement schedules and pipeline reportsEnsure organizational compliance, file/prepare support for local taxes, insurance policies, including General Liability, D&O and property and general risk managementProvide due diligence reviews and approvals for programmatic investmentsTeam LeadershipChampion ON's culture and embodies ON's values of boldness, connection, curiosity, integrity, and respect Serve as a thought partner across the organization providing recommendations and partnering with the Head of FInance to create and implement short- and long-term financial strategy for ONServe as a key functional leader supporting bi-annual budgeting and resource allocation with the executive team and bi-annual reporting to the Board (eg grants and investments portfolio reporting, budget, and forecast)In partnership with the Head of Finance, shape an organization-wide culture of financial literacy, empowering leaders to take ownership of their team's budgeting and financial needsManage and mentor a highly effective and diverse team to achieve ambitious results, supporting a high standard of excellence and accountabilityRecognize and anticipate opportunities and challenges as they relate to financial and technology systems and operations; generating ideas, strategies, and solutions to drive impactLead all-staff finance-related training, onboarding and offboarding employeesCandidate Requirements:5-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience including financial planning & forecasting with prior experience as a manager and Controller required, Public Accounting/CPA required; additionally, investment and fair-value accounting preferredAdvanced knowledge of GAAP, deep proficiency with accounting software and systems implementation, and brings a balanced blend of both nonprofit and for-profit accounting experience Familiarity with corporate tax filings; knowledge of tax laws applied to tax-exempt organizations a plus and experience leading an audit and preparing audited financial documentsAbility to effectively collaborate cross functionally with programs and operations teamsLeans into creative thinking, brings a solutions orientation to problem-solving, and has the ability to brainstorm multiple solutions while weighing differing prioritiesKeen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation and presenting proposed solutions to solve problems.

Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers, with a strong customer service orientationStrong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of managing difficult situations with tact and diplomacyHighly organized, has strong time management/prioritization abilities, and fastidious with detailsExpertise in Excel is a must!Location: While we are currently working in a hybrid capacity, this position will be based out of our Redwood City (CA) office. Compensation and Benefits:This is a full-time, salaried position that features competitive pay and benefits, including health care (eg, medical/dental/vision), paid time off, and a generous employer 401(k) contribution. The salary will be $192,915 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
