Senior Power Electronics Engineer

Senior level electrical engineer with power electronics expertise. Our client is a leading developer of UPS systems and battery backup power solutions.

Position will report to the VP of Engineering. Position will provide electrical engineering research and design for new and existing power electronics product lines. Proficient Knowledge in: DC/DC, AC/DC, and DC/AC conversion design and analysis PCB design (Altium) Analog and Digital Circuit Designs LTSpice Thermal Design and analysis (FLOW simulation) Power electronics and UPS topologies Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to the following: Experience in Power electronics and UPS topology Provide electrical designs for new and existing product lines.

End to end evaluation and testing of Microcontroller based controller and its software with UPS Inverter hardware. Experience with PIC controller is a plus. Understanding of UL924 is a plus.

Familiar with the lab environment to conduct system level testing. Must be flexible, proactive, and innovative. Must enjoy working with new technology in a fast-spaced environment.

Test electronics units and software, using standard test equipment, and analyze results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustment. Maintain system logs or manuals to document testing or operation of equipment. Adjust or replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry or electronics components, using hand tools or soldering iron.

Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art tools. Provide engineering support or recommendations for new or existing equipment with regard to installation, upgrades, or enhancements. Record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, or specifications.

Provide customer support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use. Document technical design details. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with coursework in Electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Use of PCB layout tool Altium, physics, mathematics, and statistics.

3-10 years of experience working in the power electronics (more specific to UPS and emergency back-up) industry Compensation will be determined by proven expertise and years of experience. Exceptional benefits and relocation plan. Hybrid potential 1-2 days/week.
