IT Support (Permanent)

Location: Haywards Heath Country: UK Rate: £35k - £45k per annum

We're seeking a highly IT Support for a role in our clients UK Data Centre. The successful candidate will be integral to the development, implementation, and support of our clients Data Centre, gaining invaluable industry knowledge and experience in a technical role.

The IT Supports Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of hardware components such as CPU/GPU, oil immersion Servers, air-cooled Servers, storage, and interactive Servers.
  • Management of spare parts and hardware installation.
  • Upkeep of the data centre, including adherence to rack cabling standards, IT workshop management, and equipment audits.
  • Participation in hardware decommissioning, lease management, and documentation management.
  • Incident, problem, and change management, with a focus on continual service improvement.
  • Deployment of new systems and applications, along with participation in project-related meetings and troubleshooting activities.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong desire to learn and grow, with excellent communication, customer service, and team skills.
  • IT literacy with proficiency in Linux distributions and a delivery-focused, problem-solving attitude.
  • Technical proficiency in HPC system architecture and basic troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Information Systems.

Desired Skills/Learning:

  • Knowledge of HPC systems architecture, Linux distributions, systems administration, Scripting languages, open-source analytics and monitoring software, and computational thinking.
