Summary of the role

We are looking for a Project Manager to join on a programme with one of our largest clients, who will help support the delivery of detailed plans through to completion. This role will be very client focused, so someone with strong stakeholder engagement skills is essential. This role can be based in any of the following locations (Glasgow, Liverpool or Peterborough) and will be a 3/2 split on days in office and at home.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the successful delivery of the work packages in their workstreams, within the agreed time, cost and quality criteria to ensure meets the business requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Applies and champions the appropriate project management discipline, ie planning, resourcing, scheduling, monitoring, reporting and risk, issue, lessons learned and dependency management.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and customers, ensuring delivery meets requirements.
  • Analyse the performance of the projects, recommend and implement corrective action to cover gaps.
  • Identify, evaluate and manage risks to the project, implementing appropriate actions to mitigate risk using appropriate risk management techniques.
  • Produce project documentation in line with the agreed methodology and provide regular, timely and accurate updates on progress.
  • Provide management direction and leadership to the operations business readiness to ensure successful delivery.

What we're looking for

  • An experienced project manager with an excellent understanding of project management techniques and disciplines
  • Experience of management and motivation of a team of specialist and non specialist staff
  • Experience of managing medium to high scale and/or medium to high risk projects in a commercial outsource organisation and/or financial services environment.
  • Has experience of managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Multi-disciplinary experience and has demonstrated ability to quickly come up to speed on new areas, to quickly build credibility with professionals from other disciplines
  • Has driven business solution identification and project initiation
  • Proven track record of successful project leadership and delivery
