Financial Crime Officer (Permanent)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £50k - 60k per year
 

Currently recruiting on behalf of a start-up bank for a Financial Crime Officer to join them. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team at the forefront of shaping the banks risk management strategy during a critical phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of financial crime frameworks across our bank.
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of effective financial crime policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial crime risk assessment processes.
  • Work closely with product squads to identify and manage financial crime risks.
  • Draft relevant management information for senior management and the Board to monitor financial crime risk management effectiveness.
  • Support positive customer outcomes and mitigate the risk of consumer harm.
  • Assist colleagues in the 2nd line risk team as required.
  • Contribute to delivering regulated training programs to enhance colleague awareness and adherence to standards.
  • Support the Mobilisation Plan activities related to AML & Financial Crime.

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks governing financial crime risks, including Money Laundering regulations and FCA Guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Flexible and willing to support other 2nd line risk initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in day-to-day AML tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments, especially operational teams.
  • Experience working in financial crime roles within financial services.
  • Comfortable building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
