AWS Data Engineer, highly skilled with expertise in Redshift, DBT and Python is needed to join a leading Consultancy client.
You will play a play a key role in their DataOps & Engineering Team designing, building, testing & supporting data and BI solutions. Hands on with their AWS tech stack utilising Step functions, Glue jobs & crawlers, Lambda (Python/Pyspark), DBT over Redshift.
This a remote working Contract for an initial 6 months, with the potential of extension. Candidates must have strong experience with AWS Technologies, mainly focused around Redshift, DBT, Glue & Lambda and have strong Python/PySpark experience.
Responsibilities for the AWS Data Engineer includes:
- Design, build and test of aspects data services, from ingestion, through harmonisation and transformation into business usable analytics.
- Input into High level design and responsibility for low level design
- Hands on development of data pipelines using Glue Jobs (PySpark) & Crawlers, DBT over Redshift and Lambda (Python/PySpark)
- Thorough and high-quality automated Unit testing
- Input into & creation of Integration, regression and use case testing
- Creation of accurate, insightful & informative technical documentation
- Keen and engaged member of the Agile team
- High communication through the JIRA, Planned meetings and one to one connections.
- High Engagement in Daily stand-ups, Sprint Refinement & Sprint Planning and Demos
- Feedback and improvement through continual learning and retrospectives
- Support and Maintenance of our Data management and Analytics solutions

Desired skills and experience for the AWS Data Engineer includes:
- A passion for technology with a flair for finding innovative solutions
- A talent for Design with a keen eye for detail, structured thinking and best practice
- Identifying and analysing business, client or project requirements and translating them into technical deliverables
- Experience in developing Data solution with the following technical skills:
- Glue Jobs (PySpark) & Crawlers
- DBT over Redshift
- Lambda (Python/PySpark)
- Git based Source control (ideally bit bucket)
- Object Orientated Design experience
- Great self-starting attitude and keen to join an entrepreneurial organisation where every working day is different
Beneficial skills and experience for the AWS Data Engineer includes:
- DevOps Pipelines or CI/CD (ideally AWS with Terraform) - build, maintain or run.
