Senior System Integration Tester

Digital Skills is working with a great client on a complex integration programme of work that is in need of a Senior System Integration Tester. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless integration and functionality of complex systems, particularly cloud-based applications and services.

The candidate needs to have extensive experience in handling complex integrations, testing API's, designing user journeys, creating test data, and working with cloud environments. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills are essential to facilitate effective teamwork and achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of system integration testing to support software and system development, with a strong focus on cloud-based services.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, negotiate testing timelines, and communicate testing progress and results effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Undertake audits of third-party supplier's testing to ensure quality and exercise definition of done as SIT quality gate.
• Develop and maintain detailed integration test plans and scenarios for complex software applications involving multiple systems, including cloud platforms.
• Conduct API and cloud service integration testing to ensure systems interact efficiently and meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with development and product teams to create realistic user journeys and test scenarios, particularly for cloud-based applications.
• Generate and manage test data, and maintain data integrity across multiple environments, including cloud-based platforms.
• Create and implement SIT readiness checklists to ensure consistent test acceptance criteria are implemented across all third parties.
• Identify, document, and track bugs and issues through to resolution, working closely with cloud service providers and development teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of test engineers, with a focus on cloud integration challenges.
• Enhance existing testing processes and incorporate best practices for system integration testing, particularly for cloud services.
• Mentor and train junior QA team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the testing team.
• Identify and proactively manage risks and single points of failure in the entire SDLC.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization to ensure alignment and understanding of testing objectives and outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver reports and presentations to summarize testing activities, including issues found and resolutions proposed, with a focus on cloud integrations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in system integration testing, with a proven track record of handling complex integrations, including extensive work with cloud-based services.
• Expertise in API testing and creating comprehensive test plans and cases, particularly for cloud services.
• Strong experience in creating detailed user journeys and test data for cloud-based applications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrable leadership skills and experience managing a testing team including juniors.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly and concisely.
• Proficient with test management software and QA methodologies.
• Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or similar.
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
