Responsibilities:

- Work in agile teams and help them to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work, define scope and agree a minimum viable experience (MVE).
- Adapt, reflect and be responsive to feedback.
- Choose the best option to make content accessible to different audiences and assistive technologies and show proposed approaches to content design through the creation of prototypes and content plans.
- Explain how the pattern choice or need for a new pattern, publishing approach and metadata will shape how the content will be published and managed.
- Negotiate with stakeholders and influence accessibility decisions, dealing with challenging situations and removing blockers.
- Act as a point of escalation if stakeholder relationships break down or to support more junior members of staff.
- Create and implement content strategies and processes, balancing the business objectives and needs of users.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to shape and record design decisions and design debt across complex user journeys, creating and advocating for content that meets the needs of users, including users who are disabled, neurodiverse or use assistive technology.
- Set performance measures for content to evidence how the design meets accessibility regulations and user needs, and in turn supports business objectives.
- Use data, research and evidence to plan, write, design and edit content across multiple channels that meets accessibility regulations, content styles and standards.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the quality of content from more junior colleagues (if you have them), coaching and guiding them to improve.
- Set review dates and monitor the effectiveness of content to make continuous improvements.
- Engage with and contribute to the organisation's content design community of practice.

Essential Skills:

- Experience of leading the design and implementation of content strategy for specific areas of work, allows you to lead and direct strategic content design projects.
- Experience of working with user stories, user insights and creating content that can be measured as effectively meeting the needs of users, allows you to clearly explain why and how decisions have been made and when further changes are needed.
