Our client, a leading global professional services provider, is looking to hire an experienced Security Operations Analyst contractor to support their business throughout the UK and EMEA.

Reporting directly to the Senior Security Operations Manager, the successful candidate will take charge of leading the detection and response efforts for security incidents while actively contributing to the refinement and development of our capabilities.

This is a hands-on position, requiring proactive leadership in process enhancement and refinement. Additionally, you may be involved in supporting transformative projects as the firm undergoes significant technological and sustainability-focused changes.

Responsibilities:

• Offering subject matter expertise in the detection, protection, and response to security events and incidents.
• Collaborating with operational IT teams on incident response and improvement initiatives.
• Generating reports on key operational metrics from the team.
• Ensuring that operational processes are documented and regularly updated based on feedback from incident lessons learned.
• Validating and testing response capabilities on a regular basis to maintain maturity.
• Educating and assisting in the development of Security Analysts.
• Designing and implementing custom use cases.
• Identifying areas of improvement in current tools and processes.
• Acting as a stand-in for the Senior Security Operations Manager when required.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 3 years experience in a SOC environment.
• Experience in broader operational security within international organisations.
• Demonstrable understanding of information security controls and technology.
• Team leadership and management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of technical security controls, including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, Firewalls, IPS/IDS, web filtering, and email filtering.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, SIGMA, STRIDE.
• Knowledge of Cloud Security Services such as the M365 stack.
• Fundamental understanding of cloud technologies (IaaS and SaaS).
• Security certifications including CISSP, CISM, GIAC, would be beneficial.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

The Offer:

• £450 - £500 per day Inside IR35
