Azure Cloud Data Solution Architect
This role defines best practices in the evaluation, selection and design of the architecture of software components and related hardware/infrastructure requirements of the applications and its data, and the development of the application, including evaluation and selection of development methods, support processes, best practices and tools. The solution architect is also responsible for application non-functional aspects for example usability, accessibility, quality, security, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity.

Job responsibilities
Architecture of solutions

Architecting Enterprise Data Platform on Cloud particularly on Azure to support regulatory financial institution
Designing Functional Architectures for Service Quality
Designing and maintaining Non-Functional Requirements, eg, Capacity planning, availability, performance, housekeeping, monitoring and foundational capabilities of the Enterprise Data Platform

Designing the application solution delivery and good understanding of Cloud Infrastructure solutions

Leading technical teams as appropriate in data and analytics delivery implementation and support
Performing technical assessment and evaluation of Cloud Services and other Cloud SaaS/IaaS/PaaS solutions
Liaising with 3rd party product providers to understand future enhancements, product roadmaps, new developments and communicate as required to business, user, and IT Stakeholders

Documenting solution architecture
Cloud Data Platform capabilities, Use Cases, Applications, including integrations
Collaborate with Cloud Security and Cloud Infrastructure offices
Maintaining documentation

Other Solution Architect activities

Assist in deploying data solutions and applications.
Assist in second line support problem determination and resolution of solution issues
Assist in designing, developing and implementing Enterprise Data Platform enhancements to agreed standards utilising standard processes and procedures.
Assist in generating the required documentation to deliver change control
Assist in supporting Data Analytics development and production teams
Assist in supporting the Data and Analytics team to resolve incidents
Assist in analysing and recommending service quality improvement activities
Provide architectural oversight and support for the data solution and infrastructure environment

Required knowledge and experience
10-15 years of experience in Cloud Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Hyperscalers specially Microsoft Azure technologies across the Data Lifecycle.
Have experience in architecting and solutioning Azure based projects.
Hands on knowledge in ADF, Databricks, PowerBI
Experience in various Azure services across Data Ingestion, Datamodelling, Data Governance, Data Quality, Reporting and Visualization and Analytics capabilities.
Experience in setting up Foundational and Advanced Capabilities of Azure Cloud Data Platform
Relevant technical experience managing, developing and upgrading applications, within application/solution design
Strong understanding of data modelling techniques in Relational, Document, Graph, and BigData platforms servicing OLTP, OLAP and mixed model architectures
Excellent documentation skills and ability to complete high quality architecture artefacts in a timely fashion to meet project timelines for governance gates.
Experience of end-to-end data solution architecture/design methods and patterns for example design in areas such as data sourcing, data warehousing, data lakes, ELT/ELT, streaming, data delivery, data visualization
Experience in application integration using services-oriented and/or Middleware approaches
Strong customer service ethos, recognising the importance of customer needs and business value at stake in delivering services, thereby enhancing the perception of the organization
Have excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Have experience in leading projects relating to system integration, data migration, data warehousing experience with cloud-based data platforms; experience driving technical workshops with technical and business clients to derive value added services and implementations
Hands-on working knowledge of topics such as solutions (for example: data lakes, data meshes, data platforms, data streaming solutions
