Junior Cyber Security Engineer (Permanent)

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Country: UK Rate: £25k - £30k per annum

They use technology to drive change and use innovative solutions to make their clients lives more simple. The role:

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the security posture, detect and respond to incidents, and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks. This role is perfect for someone in an IT Support role who has started their career in cyber, and is now ready to take the leap into a full time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor security alerts, analyse logs, and investigate potential threats.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in incident response activities and contribute to security incident management.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging threats and security trends.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge required for this role:

  • Management of local Firewalls for endpoints
  • Securing software for remote devices
  • Familiarity with anti-virus software
  • Experience with Windows 365
  • Familiarity with Windows Intune and patch management software
  • Experience with Mimecast
