Supply Chain Technician Leicestershire Up to 27K Basic (Permanent)

Location: Whetstone Country: UK Rate: Up to 27K Basic
 

Client:

An Industry leader in ultra-durable optics for extreme environmental conditions and temperature fluctuations

Mission:

Responsible for the Goods In and Material Release function within the Supply Chain Department. Supporting control Material stock levels by providing awareness on Delivery Dates vs Production Requirements and liaising with Planning and Purchasing. Support the Shipping aspect within the department, whilst Creating Customs Clearance documents and Certificate of Conformity document packages. Full training to be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate book in deliveries to JD Edwards system, performing initial visual checks.

Ensuring Qty and Delivery dates match the Purchase Order prior to receipt

Reporting of any delivery discrepancies.

Transferring received inspection data within dedicated spreadsheets.

Ensuring traceability of material movements from Goods In to Inspection Routes and on to Final receipt.

Ensure a high level of stock control and accuracy.

Handling Materials correctly and storing in the correct manner.

Performing Customs Clearances for imports.

Supporting the Planning function (mitigating risk in production delays)

Release of Materials to the Shopfloor for Production.

Loading and Unloading duties using a Pallet Truck, training to be provided, certificates not needed.

Support and Coverage required for Shipping products to Customers.

Management of the departments dedicated Inbox

Education/Qualifications Skills:

Qualifications in Mathematics and Physics at least to GCSE or A level

Computer literacy, including familiarity with Excel and Word

The Manual handling of products

Goods Inwards experience

Proficient in using ERP systems

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent attention to detail highly organised

Physical Demands:

The role could sometimes involve physical activities such as transporting optics to various departments and occasional lifting of weights more than 5kgs may be required.
